1) 100 Q&A cards used to question people attending the party.
2) Classic Match – An imposter scent of Ralph Lauren’s “Polo”. The scent was applied liberally throughout the evening.
3) Infotainment – Informational snippets and articles culled from the internet that related to the theme of excess that I read to willing party attendees. Selections included: Notes on hirsutism, an article addressing the dubious environmental benefit of carbon sequestration (a geoengineering technique which is meant to offset negative environmental manifestations brought about by excessive reliance on fossil fuels), a March 2008 article from the Austin American Statesman where Austin police where being accused of excessive use of force against certain segments of the population.
4) Musical Accompaniment – If a person agreed to listen to me read an article/informational snippet, I then asked if they’d like musical accompaniment. If yes, I handed over my iPod… song playing on the iPod… “I Need You Tonight” by INXS.
